Ready To Write

Book Coaching

write with confidence

I'm ready!

Want to write a novel? No problem.

If you’re looking to write your first novel, while keeping on top of 'all the things', then you probably know you need to make your writing work around you.

You know that writing a novel leads to creative fulfilment, new possibilities and perhaps even extra income.

You’ve heard, too, that only about 1 in 10 manuscripts actually get finished, and you want to be that 1.

Here's why 9 out of 10 novels

never get finished

NO CLEAR PLAN

Writing a novel is a big project. It takes planning and focus to get you to The End.

OVERWHELM

Keeping all the strands together and making it flow can leave you demotivated.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME

You don't believe you have the skill or talent to write a great story.

Book a clarity call now!

Here’s what you might not know:

01

Vision

It's essential to know what success means to you. When you know what you're writing and why, you have a vision to keep you motivated whenever you hit a bump in the storyline.

02

Plan

Consistency comes from planning ahead or even setting a deadline. It gives you something concrete to focus on, maintaining momentum.

03

Grow

Confidence emerges from consistency. As your book grows so does your self-belief, and self-belief is what will finish your first draft.

Do any of these sound familiar?

No self belief

Writing a novel is fun and rewarding, but it is challenging. Too many writers don’t believe they have the strength of mind or the talent to do it.

But when you write with a positive approach, you can achieve what you never thought possible.

Not enough time

Time is a balancing act, but it's one you can master. Do you believe you have to write every day, for hours at a time if you want to be a 'proper' writer?

When you're writing your first novel you undoubtedly have a job, family and social life that you don't want to give up.

No one will like your story

Perhaps you're convinced that even if you do finish your novel, no one will like it? That no agent will want to represent you or you won't be able to find readers online?

Trust me, you have a story to tell and nobody can tell it your way.

Why use a coach?

The difference between a coach and an online course or book, is that that coaching doesn't finish until you're finished. I coach you? You finish your book.

01

Finish the draft

We work together until you are happy with your draft and are ready to move onto the editing stage.

02

Refine your process

I'll help you work out the best way for you to write with consistency, what to do with new plot or project ideas, how to organise research and ditch the overwhelm.

03

Write better

A coach guides you in turning an idea into a plotline, delving deeper into your characters, keeping the middle from dragging and getting to The End.

What you get:

Accountability

Guidance to keep you on track until The End.

Even though the reasons to write your first novel are obvious,

the path to The End is anything but...

Maybe you’ve taken a few local evening classes or the odd weekend workshop.

Perhaps you’ve read some of the many craft books out there, but they’ve left you more confused than when you started.

You’re passionate and you’ve searched online for ‘how to write a novel’ but are still uncertain about how to get started or even harder, finish.

But even with the best of intentions most new writers lose momentum and allow their story to languish at the bottom of a drawer or in an unopened word document.

All of this is to say...

You don't need to do this alone.

I'm here to guide you, lead you, encourage you and cheer you on. I'm the person you come to when you're feeling stuck or like an imposter.

I'm the one who will keep you on track and, like any good coach, see you over the finish line.

FAQs

How do we get started?

We start with a 'discovery call'. This allows us to find out more about each other and how I can best help you.

I don't like talking on the phone, is there another way?

Yes, absolutely. We can start with an email introduction (emma@emmadhesi.com) and move onto Zoom later. Or, if you prefer, we can stick with email correspondence/Voxer as I know that's how some communicate best.

Can I submit pages of work to you?

Yes you can! I accept up to 10 pages of work per week. I'll give you feedback on those pages at our 1:1 sessions and via Voxer/email, depending on your preference.

I'm not sure what I need help with. Can we discuss it first?

Not a problem. Schedule a call with me, or drop me an email and we can talk over where you feel your stuck and how I can help you.

Is there a time commitment?

There is an initial commitment of 3 months. This means we can get to know each other and make real progress with your manuscript. After that coaching is on a monthly rolling basis.

Do you offer refunds?

No refunds are offered. I am confident that, providing you do the work, you will make real progress on your manuscript and be delighted with the results.
